Jill Hertz grew up in the family furniture store with both parents and one dutch uncle, who all have degrees in interior design. Art and Architecture were daily field trips and conversations. Art classes started very early for Jill (6 years old) and her two sisters at The Memphis College of Art. The sisters all loved paint, pottery, glue, glitter, markers, and any form of art.

In high school, Jill was encouraged to go to all the furniture and accessory markets with her parents and grandparents, who let her take her chances at buying merchandise for the stores. Jill graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Architecture and a minor in Business and Marketing. Early experience gave Jill the confidence to become a buyer and merchandiser for a national furniture manufacturer and retailer. Upon the arrival of the new decade in 2000, and with several future clients asking her to start projects for them, Jill Hertz Interior Design was started.

Jill’s love for interior design has spilled over into every aspect of her life. “My passion for everything architecture and design is even influencing my daughter, Lily. At the zoo, she notices the rock placement and the light fixtures. At Disney, she would rather tour the hotels and grounds instead of shopping for Disney merchandise!”
