Christin Mains

Christin grew up in Memphis, TN. She cultivated a passion for architecture and design at an early age, having spent time with her grandfather in his furniture repair workshop and her father at his job sites. Christin was creating shop drawings as early as age 13 for her father.

Christin received her undergraduate in Architecture from the University of Memphis and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her work in her capstone class at UIC, in which she developed her own “soft code” as an addition to architectural building code, led her to be published in Journal of Architectural Education in October of 2013.

Christin moved on to join the JHID team in 2018. She has proven to be an invaluable member of the team in her role as Junior Architect and Visual Designer. She can be seen at job sites consulting on structures, in the office creating drawings, or socializing with our clients and their pets. Christin believes that design is a powerful collaboration of inspired thought, detailed interest, and personality made to evoke emotion and serve its audience in a unique way. In her spare time, Christin enjoys cooking and baking with her boyfriend (a former chef!), Halloween, playing practical jokes on family members, and spending time with her sweet nephew!
